As Principal of Equinox Architecture LLC, Robert Dickson is dedicated to the practice and execution of timeless architectural design. With strong academic and professional qualifications and a deep commitment to public service, he is a leader in his profession and in his community.

Robert received his B.A. in Visual Arts from Brown University in 1991, while earning the Roberta Joslin Award for excellence in art. While in Rhode Island, he also completed substantial coursework at the Rhode Island School of Design studying architecture, sculpture and industrial design. In 1992, he enrolled at the prestigious School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin. As a recipient of the Hal Box Scholarship, Robert graduated with a Masters of Architecture degree in June of 1996.

The majority of Robert’s internship and professional training took place at Baker + Hogan + Houx, a leading architectural and planning firm in Central Colorado. Starting in the Summer of 1996, Robert quickly ascended from a draft technician and job captain to full project architect.

Robert earned his architecture license from the State of Colorado in 2001, and became a member of the American Institute of Architects. In March of 2003, Robert struck out on his own, founding
Equinox Architecture LLC of Breckenridge, Colorado. In various professional roles over the past decade, Robert has collaborated on hundreds of projects, representing a wide range of project types and architectural styles.

Beyond contributing to the
architectural legacy of Colorado’s Central Rockies, Robert also gives generously to many community organizations that improve the lives of Colorado’s residents and visitors alike. Foremost, Robert is a volunteer ski instructor with the Adaptive Ski Program at the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center. This award-winning program allows people with disabilities or special needs the opportunity to experience the joy of snow sports. Robert also serves on the Board of Advisors of the Summit Huts Association.  In addition to these many activities, Robert still finds time for his most important job of all—husband and father.  Since 2001, Robert and wife Andrea have enjoyed mountain life side by side.  Now Robert and Andrea have been blessed with a son, Gavin Ponder Dickson who was born November 22, 2007.  George, their black lab companion, frequently joins them on their adventures.

Robert’s biography continues to be written every day, in the lives of the people he reaches as a volunteer, and those whom he serves as a professional,
visionary architect.
